STAND UP AND CLOWN

"The hottest ticket in LA Comedy" - PBS

“...both a testament to the artistry of clown and an immersive comedy experience unlike any other.” - LA TIMES

CLOWN BOSS Chad Damiani directs a group of local performers through their very first modern clown show.

A glorious celebration of failure and the cruelest show in clown

ABOUT CHAD DAMIANI “THE CLOWN BOSS”
“THE FATHER OF MODERN CLOWNING” - NPR
“A VERITABLE RINGLEADER” - NEW YORK TIMES
Chad Damiani is one of the architects of the modern LA clown scene – a dynamic fusion of improv, sketch, stand-up and character with the fundamental principles of clown work. His unique approach to clowning and live direction has been covered by The New York Times, New York Magazine, LA Times, Paris Review, BBC, PBS and NPR.

He’s the creator and star of the hit podcast and live show STAND UP AND CLOWN – where he directs well-known comics through their first clown production. Chad is an ensemble member of STAMPTOWN (check out their recent Netflix special), works regularly with circus company Spiegelworld and tours with PIFF’S ALL-STAR VEGAS – an international variety show. He has worked as a clown consultant for comic artists like Natalie Palamides, whose award-winning solo show WEER recently had a sold-out run off Broadway.

Chad’s also been in a bunch of TV shows and movies and started his career as a professional wrestling announcer for World Championship Wrestling.

Outwit. Outplay. Out-laugh.

Get ready for a night of high-stakes hilarity at Hashtag Comedy Club with Survivor: A Competitive Improv Show —the ultimate comedy competition where only the funniest will survive, inspired and parodying TV's Survivor.

Watch as Columbus’ top improvisers battle it out in a game filled with unpredictable challenges, shocking plot twists, and cutthroat comedy. Just like the hit TV show, the fate of our players is in your hands—you vote, you decide who stays, and who gets sent packing. Plus, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the drama with live confessionals that reveal the alliances, betrayals, and ridiculous strategies at play.

Will your favorite comic outwit, outplay, and out-laugh the competition? Find out on Friday May 22, at 7 PM (doors at 6:45 PM) at Hashtag Comedy Club, Columbus’ hottest comedy venue in the heart of the Short North Arts District.

Come for the laughs, stay for the backstabbing—because in improv, the tribe has spoken!

Bob Roberts hosts a group of his hand-picked favorite improvisors who will collectively present a live newscast complete with witnesses, experts, and commentators. They will report, explore and anylyze actual stories or events which were experience by random audience members...in the funniest and most entertaining way possible.
