DISRUPTOR: INTRO TO MODERN CLOWN
Curious about LA clown work? The scene has garnered a ton of attention over the last few years -- including multiple Netflix specials, soldout international variety tours and a bevy of celebrity fans and practitioners (including Heated Rivalry's Connor Storrie). CLOWN BOSS Chad Damiani has been at the center of it all. DISRUPTOR is unlike any comedy class you’ve taken. An exploration of not only how games are created and played, but when it’s time to break all the rules. This two-day intensive explores risk, chaos, subversion, paradox, instability, misdirection and the possibilities that exist on the other side of embarrassment and failure. Good for artists of all kinds, including improvisers, actors, stand-up comics and anyone interested in connecting to an audience. No experience required. Open to any and all levels of performer.
Disruptor: Intro to Modern Clown is a two-part workshop that spans 2 days, with a 4-hour session on each day. The first workshop will be from 6-10pm on Wednesday 11/11, and the second/final workshop will be from 6-10pm on Thursdsay 11/12. Ticket purchase includes both days.
Please note the course will not take place at Hashtag Comedy Company's club located at 1253 N High Street. Class location will be in Columbus and updated asap (and communicated to all registrants).

Chad Damiani is one of the architects of the modern LA clown scene – a dynamic fusion of improv, sketch, stand-up and character with the fundamental principles of clown work. His unique approach to clowning and live direction has been covered by The New York Times, New York Magazine, LA Times, Paris Review, BBC, PBS and NPR.
He’s the creator and star of the hit podcast and live show STAND UP AND CLOWN – where he directs well-known comics through their first clown production. Chad is an ensemble member of STAMPTOWN (check out their recent Netflix special), works regularly with circus company Spiegelworld and tours with PIFF’S ALL-STAR VEGAS – an international variety show. He has worked as a clown consultant for comic artists like Natalie Palamides, whose award-winning solo show WEER recently had a sold-out run off Broadway.
Chad’s also been in a bunch of TV shows and movies and started his career as a professional wrestling announcer for World Championship Wrestling.
