Acting for TV by Ervin J Ross (6 Week Course)

ABOUT:

This class is an introduction to basic acting techniques of personalization, focus, and scene study explored through participatory and collaborative exercises and assignments. The designer and instructor for this class is Ervin Ross. Ervin Ross is a Meisner trained actor who performed the role of Rodney Scott in the criticallyacclaimed Apple+ show Five Days At Memorial. He has performed in contract or recurring rolesin 35 national and streaming TV shows including: I Think You Should Leave, New Girl andGrey's Anatomy. In 2010, he moved to LosAngeles and began studying at prominent improv schools including: Upright Citizens Brigade,The Groundlings and Improv Olympics West. He is currently working on developing a sitcom partially inspired by his youth called(PoorChoices.com) and just finished working on a SAG-AFTRA film called Down To The Felt.

The course meets on Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm-3:00pm for a total of six class sessions (10/5 - 11/9). Classes will take place in our Hashtag Comedy Club (1253 N. High Street).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Class open to any level.

  • If the course is cancelled, tuition will be refunded.

  • Age requirement: 19-119 welcome!

  • PARKING: Students may park in the back of the Hashtag Theater space when spots are available. Free parking validation for said lot is available inside the theater, but students are responsible for validating their own parking.

  • Photo & Video Notice: By attending this event, you understand that photos and videos may be taken and used by Hashtag Comedy for promotional purposes (social media, website, etc.). If you prefer not to appear in any photos or videos, just let a staff member know when you arrive. We’re happy to accommodate!
