Last night at Shadowbox Live's Backstage Bistro, Hashtag Comedy hosted a roast of Jeff Gage, local comedy legend, actor, improv teacher, and real estate agent! Jeff has also been running Improv Wars since 2011 - now a major showcase for all Columbus improvisers.
Hashtag Comedy owes everything to Jeff: we met in his Advanced Improv class back in the fall of 2012. Whether it was from playing, "Pussy Wants a Corner," "Red Light, Green Light," or the many, MANY rides we took on our bodies, we were so inspired by that class and his teaching to keep working together and creating spontaneous, funny moments ever since!
The night began with a short set of improv comedy games by Hashtag Comedy.
After that, the roast began! The host was Chris Heiberger, and the roasters were an all-star cast comprised of Brad Shimp, Phil Porter, Larry Ramey, Keith Collins, Dino Tripodis, Hashtag Comedy's Sarah J. Storer, and Joe Teeters. There are so many things to celebrate about Jeff Gage: his many different hair styles, his sonorous singing voice, his organizational skills, and apparently his love of parading around Michigan motel rooms in tighty whiteys. We love you, Jeff! Thanks for all you do in Columbus comedy!
